Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Director of Business Development to generate sponsorship revenue for the WORLDZ community and summit. This individual is adept at taking initiative, excited by challenges, has sales and business development experience, and an existing network in the media / marketing space. Their enthusiasm is contagious and entrepreneurial spirited. The ideal candidate is one who creates his/her own success and embraces the fact that success in only limited by desire.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Based on the nature of WORLDZ and its mission, identify key decision makers and thought leaders within a diverse scope of a prospect universe.
  • Qualify, develop, and solidify meaningful relationships that result in the attainment of individually-assigned revenue goals; utilize Cloud-based tools including CRM to this end.
  • Collaborate, co-develop, and execute with a sense of urgency on innovative strategies that have an immediate impact on revenue.
  • Achieve and exceed assigned revenue targets.
  • Maintain and update the prospect pipeline.
  • Participate in regular sales meetings as well as individual discussions with the senior vice president of strategic partnerships.
  • Employ daily outreach tactics to consistently communicate with potential WORLDZ partners.
  • Work efficiently and proactively with strong attention to detail.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred and/or 5+ years of business development experience in a professional environment.
  • Event sponsorship sales experience required; proven track record of developing, closing, and retaining sponsors/strategic partners.
  • Capacity to think creatively.
  • Effective negotiating skills.
  • Experience with major brand activations a strong +.
  • Great written and verbal communication skills including phone and in-person.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office; Google Docs; Mac-savvy a plus; experience working with various CRM tools & databases, including Salesforce)
  • Working knowledge of social networking applications i.e. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram.
